What Have We Been Up To So Far This Year?!

Where is the time going? It’s February already and the New Year now seems a distant memory ago now. Riding the high of our #Worcestershirehour hattrick win before Christmas we’ve been inundated with new business enquiries. Some from our contacts at BNI Mercury of which we are members, others from word of mouth, and some recent leads have come directly from social media. We’re delighted that businesses are keen to work with a local, established and award-winning marketing company who delivers what they say they are going to achieve. We like to call it ‘The Daring Magic’!
Our new starters who joined us towards the end of last year have settled in well. They haven’t been phased by our crazy dress up days and have fully embraced Prime Mix’s unconventional and exhilarating range of marketing strategies and bright ideas. We’re enjoying having an office space in Worcester and a place where we can get together regularly and hold business meetings with clients. A highlight of the year so far was the lovely cocker spaniel puppy Willow who came to discuss marketing activities with owner Stuart, our client, earlier this month.
Another highlight of the year has to be pancake day! Who doesn’t love pancakes, especially when they’re covered in thick chocolate spread and filled with sliced banana? Besides being a time to indulge before Lent begins, it was the perfect opportunity for businesses to join the social media discourse, generate some buzz and elicit customer engagement. Christina and Emma had great fun at local car seat Designers JMDA. Having worked with Prime Mix Marketing for nearly three years, JMDA are familiar with our wonderful ideas and staff appreciate the importance of our juicy marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and corporate transparency. Braving the cold weather, the more eager members of the team at JMDA took had part in a pancake flipping race down the company’s driveway in Pershore. Capturing the action on a GoPro we were able to upload the footage on to the company’s website, post it on their YouTube channel and spread it across social media. From experience, posts such as these capture a lot of attention. We tend to see spikes in activity on social media platforms when these ‘softer’ posts are sent out. Customers often experience more engagement in the personal posts detailing team building events, fundraising efforts and ‘fun’ office activities.
In addition to pancake day, Valentine’s Day also presented a great opportunity for Prime Mix to spread the magic! At the core of a good Valentine’s day marketing strategy is creating a connection between brand and customer. Prior to Valentine’s we discussed with customers some unique marketing ideas which could be used to raise awareness of the company and engage their audience. We discussed giving out freebies to existing customers as a token of thanks and planned competitions and chocolate give-aways. Our own Valentine’s Day campaign as you may well have seen was based around pink flowers, chocolates and hearts. As well as dressing the office with a selection of love themed paraphernalia we posted team selfies on social media and showed appreciation of our customers which never fails to receive good interaction.
For marketers, calendar events such as these are extremely important. They give us something tangible on which to pack a punch and generate hype around your business. Just around the corner is Easter and this occasion is no different. You might want to promote a special offer, a discount or promotion. You could think about holding an Easter egg decoration competition or an Easter egg hunt, you could go vintage and decorate Easter bonnets or simply hold an Easter themed baking event in the canteen at lunchtime. Such events provide ample opportunity to take pictures which can be posted on your website and shared on social media. This can help to make you and your business more personable and approachable and foster better working relationships with new and existing customers.
