What You Should Know to Craft Your Own Content (Blogging)

As a business, ‘blogging’ is a word you will hear a lot – especially when it comes to marketing. It’s important when writing a blog to keep it an easy read as customers are becoming increasingly short of time.
There are some key points to remember when considering writing your own your blog posts:
Clear English – Your writing should be concise and clear, in plain English. Using local phrases or abbreviations could potentially push away your wider international audience as they may struggle to follow.
Conversational – Whilst your post needs to be clear it should also be conversational. This adds a human aspect and voice to your company and will help customers feel you are talking directly to them, in turn this will help them to relate to you and your product or service.
Descriptive titles – This will help your customer find what they are looking for quickly and easily. You don’t want to run the risk of frustrating them and losing them before they read this key information.
Digestible –If you’re creating a blog mainly based on writing be aware not to overwhelm the reader with large chucks of text. Break down text into small paragraphs and use photographs, subheadings and more impressively video to break the text up further and add a bit of variety to your blog.
Summarize –If your blog does contain a vast amount of text it could be potentially hard to follow and confusing for readers. Avoid this by summarizing your key points at the end. This will make sure they have understood the content and clear up any doubt.
It sounds simple but also make use of spell check and try and to get a colleague or someone you trust to proof read your post before you make it public. Nothing looks more unprofessional than a poorly written post full of spelling errors.
